About Us

In 2001 Garry Gallas and some former associates in the Landscape Industry started GLM Sod and Landscape Materials. Garry brought with him over 20 years experience in the Sod Industry dating back to the late 1970ís. Our Mission at GLM is to sell the best quality product at a fair price and to offer exceptional service along with it. At GLM we are not locked into a single Sod Farm for our Sod purchases. We have relationships with the highest quality farms in the Southeast, which allows us to hand choose the best Sod for our customers. We are conveniently located on Hwy 9 in Alpharetta with easy access to Georgia 400. From one piece to several truckloads we are sure you will find what you are looking for at GLM. Pick up at our lot or delivery is available.

Sod

Why Sod?
Instant Beauty.  Nothing will enhance your home's landscape more.
A sodded lawn needs no special care because it is a healthy mature lawn when installed, unlike a sprigged or seeded lawn which requires years of nurturing to reach maturity.  After it has been installed, just water, mow and fertilize your lawn as needed and it will remain a healthy, green carpet of grass requiring very little maintenance.
You can install sod anytime during the year when the ground can be tilled.  There is no need to wait for the "right" season to put in your lawn.

Landscape Materials

The main functions of mulches are the conservation of soil moisture and the moderation of soil temperature.

They block the evaporation of water from the soil, slowing down soil drying. Mulch also helps control the growth of weeds by blocking sunlight and/or smothering weed seedlings under layers of material.

They help prevent soil erosion from heavy rains by preventing surface run-off of water and they prevent the direct impact of hard rains on the soil surface.

Mulched plants will produce roots in the mulch that surrounds them. These roots are
Produced in addition to the roots that the plant produces in the soil. As a result, mulched plants have more roots than unmulched plants.
